As an Engineering Interface Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in our technical and engineering team, ensuring smooth coordination across design interfaces for civil, structural, power & telecoms and track installation works. You’ll be responsible for managing complex design interfaces and ensuring construction feasibility through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- A degree in engineering in related disciplines.
- Chartered, or actively working towards chartership.
- Significant experience in design management or a technical assurance role, preferably within civils, rail, building design management, or a technical assurance role involving engagement with stakeholders on design, including interface designers, asset owners/operators and subcontractors’ designers.
- Experience of working on UK projects involving railway or tramway interfaces.
- Strong leadership skills and team coordination abilities, with a collaborative approach to team coordination and problem solving.
- Excellent understanding of design review, BIM execution and model management.
- Proficiency in 3D/4D modelling software, BIM clash detection, and design interface management tools and process.
- Lead and manage the interface management process across various design teams, ensuring the compatibility and construction feasibility of all designs.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication between internal teams, in-house designers, external consultants, and subcontractors.
- Organise and chair design interface meetings, ensuring alignment with the project delivery schedule.
- Develop and maintain interface management plans, schedules and reports, ensuring that all designs meet programme priorities.
- Ensure design assumptions and changes are shared made with interfacing designers for the detailed design are shared with third parties in a timely manner, to maintain the programme priorities.
- Monitor and report on the progress and resolution of interface issues against project milestones.
- Manage and maintain a detailed design interface register, Interface Control Documents and supporting records.
- Support organisational flexibility by undertaking additional reasonable duties as required.
