At Jersey Electricity, we’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Home Technology & Appliance Service Technician to join our team. This role is all about delivering technical support to our customers, whether that’s installing new products, diagnosing faults, or providing expert advice.
You’ll work with a range of appliances, IT equipment, and home entertainment systems, helping customers get the most from their purchases. Acting as an important link between our sales and service teams, you’ll play a key part in creating a smooth, positive experience for every customer.

Installation & Setup
- Deliver and set up appliances, IT products, TV/AV, and other Powerhouse products in line with company standards
- Ensure all installations are carried out safely and meet required regulations
- Provide friendly, practical advice on upgrades or complementary products where appropriate
Repairs & Technical Support
- Diagnose and repair faults across appliances, IT equipment, and TV/AV products
- Provide clear and accurate repair assessments, following manufacturer guidance
- Support customers both in their homes and remotely when needed
Returns & Quality Control
- Test and troubleshoot faulty items before returning them to suppliers
- Share technical insights and support with the admin team to ensure accurate processing
Customer Service
- Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner
- Keep customers informed throughout the process and ensure a positive experience
Skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good organisation and time management
- A logical, methodical approach to troubleshooting
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant systems
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear and simple way
- Safe manual handling and lifting practices
Technical Expertise
We acknowledge that not all candidates will demonstrate proficiency in all aspects listed below. If you have experience in some of these areas and are willing to learn, we’d still love to hear from you:
- Installation and maintenance of appliances (e.g. washing machines, ovens, refrigeration, dishwashers)
- Plumbing connections for household appliances
- Setup and maintenance of AV and IT equipment
- Fault finding using tools and diagnostic software
- Understanding of manufacturer guidelines for appliances and electronics
- Basic knowledge of Wi-Fi networks and connected devices
Experience Level
- Previous roles in appliance repair or technical support (essential)
- Hands-on experience with AV, IT, or appliance installations (desirable)
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Medium Goods Vehicle Licence (desirable)
- Appliance repair certification or manufacturer training (desirable)
- IT support or technical certifications (desirable)
- Electrical safety certification or relevant qualification for cooker installation (desirable)
- PAT Testing qualification (desirable)
