Overview
Surrey Solar Solutions Ltd is seeking an accomplished Lead Solar PV Electrician to take technical ownership of electrical delivery across our renewable energy projects.
This role is central to the business, responsible for ensuring all installations are completed, tested, and certified to the highest standards, while leading site activities and upholding our reputation for quality and compliance.
This is a senior position suited to an electrician who takes pride in their work, leads by example, and is ready to play a key role in a growing renewable energy company.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical lead for all electrical works, including installation, testing, and certification in accordance with BS7671.
- Oversight of consumer unit upgrades, rewires, inspection & testing, and EICRs.
- Lead and support solar PV, battery storage, and EV charger installations where required.
- Carry out site surveys, risk assessments, and method statements, ensuring full MCS and regulatory compliance.
- Diagnose complex electrical and system faults, providing effective resolutions on site.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop electricians and apprentices, ensuring consistent standards across all projects.
- Act as the primary technical representative of Surrey Solar Solutions on site, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proven ability to manage sites, make technical decisions, and work independently.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and workmanship.
Desirable (Training Provided Where Required)
- Inspection & Testing (2391).
- Experience with Solar PV, Battery Storage, and EV charging systems.
- Knowledge of G98/G99 processes and commissioning.
