The Role
-
To work as a member of the team, responsible for the hearing screening of all newborn babies born or resident in Lanarkshire, under the supervision of the Audiology Deputy Service Manager.

To collect and record accurately all clinical and test data relevant to the screening process.

To relate test outcomes in a sympathetic manner to parents/carers.

The post holder may be asked to undertake other reasonable duties such as working within the wider Audiology Service.
The working pattern for this role is Monday - Sunday, 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm
In this key role, you will:

To provide a high quality hearing screening service in accordance with national and local guidelines.

To ensure a family friendly approach by providing a professional and caring attitude throughout the screening process.

To maintain the confidentiality of the babies and their families at all times.

To ensure parental anxiety is kept to a minimum throughout the screening process by providing appropriate information to the family.
What You'll Bring:
-
SVQ III in health or social care or equivalent experience working in the role.

Completed a four-week practical training programme delivered by the Audiology Deputy Service Manager and the Screening Supervisor.

Satisfactory outcome for Theory & Practical Assessment.

Understanding of how each type of screening equipment works and how to use them properly.

Knowledge of ear anatomy and different types of hearing loss.

A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
