The post holder will provide high quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support to surgical and nursing staff at ward level as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from admission to treatment &/or discharge, ensuring the best use of resources.
The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact. Ward Clerks will display sensitivity and tact when dealing with patients and relatives, prioritising tasks with discretion to organise a varied and changing daily workload.
Demonstrates good verbal, written and communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills and dealing with complaints, and able to deal very sensitively and non- confrontationally with colleagues, patients and relatives.
Experience of using a full range of IT/patient administration systems in a healthcare setting
The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work without direct supervision.
Mary Moore ward is a 39 bedded ward within the Planned Care Surgical Division. Specialised in acute surgery and very fast.
We are a large team, working closely with Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists and Discharge flow Coordinators to ensure patients provided with the best care.
