Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings of furniture pieces using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. They will work closely with the design and manufacturing teams to produce accurate and detailed drawings that will be used to create the final product. They will need to be able to take conceptual sketches and translate them into precise drawings. They will also be responsible for researching materials as needed and looking after samples.
Responsibilities:
Main duties:
Create and modify detailed technical drawings using CAD software.
Collaborate with designers and manufacturing team members to ensure accuracy of designs and production feasibility.
Ensure that all designs and drawings comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and other regulations.
Review and revise drawings based on feedback from the design team or manufacturing team.
Prepare and distribute accurate and detailed design specifications for use in production.
Maintain a comprehensive library of CAD drawings and designs.
Liaise with clients as required to send across quotes and drawings.
Research and find suppliers for manufacture of specialist bespoke components
Site survey when required
Stay up-to-date and research the latest trends, components and technologies in furniture design and manufacturing.
Record and liaise with customers regarding finishes for their projects and sending the correct samples
Other duties may include:
Collect and record information during and after production
Take and touch up pictures of finished products and record appropriately
Assist with quality control whilst setting up furniture for pictures
Assist with brand stationery, literature and promotional design and production
Participate in interior design, furniture and production conceptualisation as required
Participate in company events
Perform ad hoc admin duties as and when required
The ideal candidate:
At least 2 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in furniture design.
Excellent knowledge of CAD software, including AutoCAD, Rhino or other 3D modelling software, Google sheets.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce precise technical drawings as well as accurate BOMs.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials used in furniture production.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to visualise end results

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
