Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Tutor specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to support children with diverse needs. The successful candidate will deliver a personalised Health and Social Care curriculumn . This role offers an enriching opportunity to make a positive impact on young people's lives through tailored educational support within a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Health and Social Care lessons tailored to individual SEMH pupils' needs.
- Support children in developing both academic skills and emotional resilience.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and participation.
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to relevant staff and parents.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate varied learning styles and behavioural challenges.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment at all times.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, therapists, and carers, to ensure holistic support for pupils.
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly within special education or SEMH settings.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work patiently and empathetically with children facing emotional or behavioural difficulties.
- Excellent organisational skills to plan sessions and track pupil progress.
- Flexibility in adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
