Job Title: HIU Engineer (Permanent & Subcontracting Positions Available)
Location: Hull
Permanent Roles: £45,000 – £55,000+ per year – Van, Fuel Card, Annual Leave + Company Benefits
The Role
We are looking for experienced HIU Engineers who have previously worked on Heat Interface Units (HIUs), communal heating systems, district heating networks, and associated plumbing and heating systems.

Positions We Have Available:
- HIU Service Engineers – Carrying out planned servicing, maintenance, and safety inspections on Heat Interface Units and communal heating systems.
- HIU Breakdown & Repair Engineers – Diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and restoring heating and hot water services within residential developments.
- HIU Installation & Commissioning Engineers – Installing, commissioning, replacing, and upgrading HIUs, associated pipework, controls, valves, and metering equipment.
We have opportunities across a variety of sectors including social housing, private residential developments, district heating schemes, housing associations, local authorities, and commercial residential properties.
What You'll Need:
- At least 2 years' experience working on Heat Interface Units (HIUs), communal heating systems, district heating networks, or plumbing and heating systems.
- Strong fault-finding, servicing, maintenance, and repair experience across HIUs and associated heating controls.
- Relevant plumbing, heating, or gas qualifications, with the ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Experience working within occupied residential properties while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Knowledge of heating controls, pumps, valves, heat meters, and communal heating infrastructure would be advantageous.
- A professional, customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.
