Job Advert – Commissioning Engineer
Acquisitions Systems Ltd/Pharmagraph is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our well-established and growing engineering company. The role is based in Runcorn and reports to the Project Leader. The company’s products are used in monitoring and control systems for pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers, as well as for general engineering and military applications.

The role
Responsible for the successful implementation, installation and testing of environmental monitoring systems to pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers.
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to ASL/ Pharmagraph environmental monitoring systems:
- Installation and commissioning of hardware, software, and electrical/electronic components at customer sites.
- Working with technical drawings for on-site termination of low-voltage control panels.
- Execution of factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site validation testing.
- Configuration of application software, Windows operating systems, and associated PC hardware.
- Assisting project engineers with design documentation, including drawings and test protocol documentation.
- Providing ongoing support and maintenance of operational customer systems via telephone, remote PC sessions, and on-site customer visits.
- Delivering project services including configuration, commissioning, qualification, and support of monitoring systems for both Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers and overseas clients.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, contractual obligations, and industry standards.
- Undertaking any additional tasks that may arise during normal day-to-day duties to support business needs and project delivery.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Drawing packages such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Previous experience in a related field is desirable.
- At least 2 years working experience in a service/commissioning/project engineering role desireable
- Knowledge of instrumentation, SCADA, PLC systems desirable
- Knowledge of RS232 / RS485 serial communications desirable
- Knowledge of Modbus / Profibus / OPC communications desirable
- IT skills / experience desirable
- Experience of working in pharmaceutical or NHS / healthcare businesses would be beneficial.
- Excellent customer service skills are essential.
- Confident in dealing with commercial, corporate, national and international customers.
- Electrical / Electronic qualification desirable
- Good numeric and written English skills
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work and the desire and aptitude to learn new skills
- Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.

Pay: £31,566.00-£43,045.00 per year
