Responsibilities
- Perform carpentry tasks including framing, fitting, and finishing work using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct roofing repairs and installations ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Execute masonry work such as bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete finishing.
- Utilise welding techniques for metal fabrication and repairs as required.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely during construction or maintenance activities.
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of structural components across various sites.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with equipment or structures.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials or equipment on-site.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects efficiently and within deadlines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, masonry, or related trades.
- Proficiency in welding, using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to construction or maintenance work.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Experience in commercial driving is advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the construction industry.
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual tasks in various weather conditions.
- Relevant certifications or licences related to roofing, welding, or operating heavy machinery are desirable but not mandatory.
