Freelance Contemporary Womenswear Designer
Location: London preferred (Hybrid / Remote considered)
I am looking for a talented Freelance Contemporary Womenswear Designer to collaborate on the launch of a new independent contemporary luxury womenswear brand.
The brand celebrates effortless femininity through clean, refined silhouettes with a sensual yet understated aesthetic. The collection will focus on beautifully crafted pieces in sheer fabrics, silk, silk-cotton blends and other lightweight luxury materials, designed to feel timeless, elegant and modern.

Responsibilities
- Develop new styles and seasonal collections.
- Translate creative direction into sketches and technical flats.
- Research fabrics, trims and construction details.
- Create presentation boards and product concepts.
- Prepare or support the development of tech packs.
- Work closely with the pattern maker throughout fittings and product development.
- Help ensure consistency across the collection and maintain a strong brand identity.
Requirements
- Experience designing contemporary womenswear.
- Strong understanding of luxury garment construction.
- Experience working with delicate fabrics such as silk, chiffon, georgette, mesh or other sheer materials.
- Excellent Adobe Illustrator skills.
- Experience preparing technical drawings and product specifications.
- Ability to balance creativity with commercial awareness.
- Previous experience with contemporary or luxury brands is highly desirable.
Nice to have
- Experience in resortwear or occasionwear.
- Pattern cutting knowledge.
- Experience working with manufacturers and sampling.
