Job Function:
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, hands-on Maintenance Manager to join our team. This position will provide engineering technical leadership in the Factory, ensuring people health and safety, product safety and environment are never compromised, and that all engineering activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant operational performance.

Your Role as a Maintenance Manager
As the Maintenance Manager, you will provide engineering leadership across the factory, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations. You will lead maintenance, industrial services, engineering capability and continuous improvement activity to support manufacturing performance, asset reliability, product quality and site standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance are maintained at all times.
- Ensure timely investigation of incidents through to root cause, with actions completed and embedded to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain compliance with legal and engineering obligations, including PUWER, LOLER and electrical safety requirements.
- Build engineering capability by identifying competency gaps, supporting training plans and developing succession and career pathways within the engineering team.
- Manage planned maintenance activity to improve asset reliability, support OEE performance and balance planned versus reactive maintenance.
- Control maintenance expenditure by keeping costs within budget, reviewing spend and delivering cost-effective maintenance solutions.
- Ensure industrial services and utilities meet production needs, are optimised and comply with food safety requirements where utilities may come into contact with product.
- Ensure electrical services, automation and manufacturing execution systems are aligned with business requirements and site standards.
- Support smooth factory operations through effective employee relations, clear communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical engineering role, ideally within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar industrial environment.
- Engineering qualification or diploma in a relevant discipline such as mechanical, electrical and automation, process, industrial engineering or similar.
- Experience supervising technical teams, contractors or third-party service providers.
- Strong understanding of planned maintenance, asset reliability, maintenance budget control and operational KPI management.
- Knowledge of health, safety and engineering compliance requirements, including safe systems of work and relevant statutory obligations.
- Experience contributing to engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team, including mechanical, electrical and automation elements.
- Understanding of electricity, automation and manufacturing execution systems.
- Ability to lead, coach and develop people through performance management, training, competency development and succession planning.
- Experience working with external technical suppliers, service providers, local authorities or utilities providers.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across multi-functional teams.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience in food manufacturing, hygienic engineering, food safety standards or category-specific production technology.
- Experience in process, packing optimisation or continuous improvement activity.
- Knowledge of project engineering, plant design, construction and CAPEX cycles.
