An opportunity has come up for an experienced, self-motivated Assistant Night Team Leader to join our team here at Sunfield. The Assistant Night Team Leader will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of waking nights and contribute to the safeguarding of care for our children and young people throughout all nights of the year. You will work with the key Care management team to promote and maintain the highest standards of care and wellbeing of the children and young people.
The Assistant Night Team Leader duties include but are not limited to:
- Support the Night Team Leader to inspire and lead the night staff teams by fostering a positive, supportive culture that promotes high morale, engagement, and effective overnight practice.
- Support the Night Team Leader and Cottage Manager’s to coordinate the delivery of consistent, high-quality care across all environments, ensuring that the needs of children and young people are met in line with their individual placement plans, therapeutic goals, and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
- Support the Night Team Leader to monitor and support the safety and well-being of all young people and staff overnight. Develop quality assurance systems to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of the provision.
- In the absence of the Night Team Leader, the Assistant Night Team Leader will be required to assume responsibility and accountability for the home under guidance of other members of management.
- Role model best practices of supporting sleep rhythm and health of the children and young people during the night.
- To have line management responsibilities for the night team staff.

Prospective candidates should be able to demonstrate:
- Relevant qualifications, Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s, it would also be desirable to hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services
- Sound experience of working with children and young people within residential care (Children’s Home (England) Regulations 2015) ideally with severe learning disabilities and profound autistic spectrum disorder.
- Sound experience of Child Protection and Safeguarding Management.
- Supervision and staff management experience.
- Experience of conducting staff supervisions and devising and implementing staff development plans and evidencing outcomes.
- Significant operational experience in a care environment working with all levels of staff and management
- Working knowledge of Quality Assurance systems.
- Commitment to creating an environment which respects a person’s independence and encourages their individuality.
- Be able to physically engage with CPI
- Experience in delivering training
- Provide reflective, and supportive supervision to staff teams.
