Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in Smethwick and Sandwell General Hospital in West Bromwich. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of up to £26,400 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience and benefits package.
Undertake a proactive role in carrying out first response to reactive jobs and complete tasks such as ventilation grille cleans, Light Cleans, unblocking of toilets, meter readings etc. in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance
Respond to BMS alerts and phone calls during nightshift, acting as the initial point of contact. Assess the nature of the issue, allocate the task to the appropriate teammember, and complete the necessary documentation. Ensure all records are handed over to the Helpdesk team at the start of their shift to support effective service continuity
Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to services across site on various aspects of the building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training

Previously worked within a maintenance environment
Knowledge and understand of a range of mechanical and electrical systems including but not limited to ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers, medical gases, heating systems, domestic hot and cold-water systems
Previously worked within a healthcare maintenance environment (Desirable)
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
