About the SEND Teacher Role
As a SEND Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with special educational needs

Support children with a range of needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and communication difficulties

Use EHCPs and individual learning plans to support pupil progress

Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, families, and wider school staff

Use positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation
-
Encourage independence, confidence, communication, and personal development

Help pupils in Dorking feel safe, understood, and ready to learn
What We're Looking For in a SEND Teacher
The successful SEND Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status, QTS

Experience teaching children with special educational needs

Primary or secondary teaching experience

A child and adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies

Excellent behaviour management and communication skills

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
