We are looking for dedicated and resilient FULL TIME Behaviour Support Assistants to work in a specialist provision in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting young people who present challenging behaviour, and who is passionate about helping them succeed.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
- Work in a class with young people who require additional behavioural support across academic and vocational hands-on subjects
- Assist teachers in creating a safe and positive learning environment
- Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote engagement
- Support students both academically and emotionally, helping them overcome barriers to learning
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, sports coaching, or care settings
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing challenging behaviour
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or already hold one on the Update Service)
