At Radnor Hills, we’ve been crafting award-winning soft drinks for over 35 years using pure spring water sourced just metres from our site. From bottled and canned drinks to TetraPak products, we proudly supply schools, shops, and supermarkets across the UK. Environmental sustainability is a bedrock of our company. We have been a zero-to-landfill site since 2018 and have an on-site state-of-the-art recycling facility and an expert in-house team to facilitate this. Our environmental management system and site have been certified to ISO 14001 standards.
The Role
Working closely with the Environmental Manager and Quality Assurance/Technical teams, you will play a key role in managing our water treatment and environmental systems, carrying out testing and monitoring activities, maintaining equipment performance, and ensuring our environmental standards are consistently achieved. Support the Environmental Manager and Quality and Technical Department in maintaining and continually improving the site’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS), including participation in audit activities, compliance monitoring, and environmental performance reporting. Contribute to ensuring all environmental processes align with regulatory permits, internal standards, and best practice.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Play a part in continuous improvement projects and sustainability initiatives that help enhance environmental performance and efficiency.
- Support internal and external environmental audits, including preparation of documentation and evidence.
- Maintain accurate environmental records and ensure documentation aligns with ISO 14001 requirements.
- Monitor environmental KPIs (e.g. water quality, discharge compliance) and report trends or deviations.
- Investigate environmental non-conformances or out-of-spec results and support corrective action implementation.
- Liaise with external laboratories, contractors, and regulatory bodies where required
- Carrying out water testing, monitoring, and analysis to support environmental compliance and operational excellence.
- Actively monitoring boreholes, river/swale/klargester systems, and piezometers as part of continuous water management activities.
- Conducting laboratory testing on water systems and supporting microbiological testing processes for finished products.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in environmental operations, water treatment, effluent treatment or similar role.
- A practical mindset with the ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
- Confidence working with pumps, dosing systems, treatment processes, sampling equipment, and monitoring systems.
- Experience carrying out testing, inspections, monitoring, and record keeping.
- A willingness to work outdoors and across different areas of site in all conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Desirable:
- Internal auditing qualification (e.g. ISO 14001 or integrated management systems
- Awareness or knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
- Environmental or science-based qualification (Level 3 or above)
- Knowledge of ISEP (Institute of Environmental Management & Sustainability) standards or membership
Based in Knighton, Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm with some flexability to cover weekends when required
Rate of Pay: From £15.20 per hour
