We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Head of Care / Responsible Individual to join a growing provider within children’s residential services.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting the organisation to open, develop, and register new children’s homes, making it ideal for someone looking to have genuine influence in shaping a provider from the ground up.

As the Head of Care / Responsible Individual, you will work closely with senior leadership to develop operational standards, support service growth, and ensure all homes operate in line with Ofsted regulations and best practice standards.
The Role:
As the Head of Care / Responsible Individual, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the opening, development, and Ofsted registration of new children’s residential homes.
- Overseeing operational performance and ensuring homes remain fully compliant with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and support to Registered Managers and operational teams.
- Driving high-quality, child-centred care across all services.
- Supporting recruitment, development, and retention of strong management and care teams.
- Leading on safeguarding, compliance, and continuous service improvement.
- Building strong relationships with local authorities, external professionals, and stakeholders.
- Supporting strategic growth plans and contributing to the long-term success of the organisation.
- Promoting positive outcomes and opportunities for children and young people across all services.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Significant leadership experience within children’s residential care.
- Strong working knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and residential childcare legislation.
- Experience supporting or opening new children’s homes would be highly advantageous.
- Previous experience as a Responsible Individual, Operations Manager, Head of Care, or experienced Registered Manager.
- A strong understanding of service development and operational management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A child-centred, values-led approach to care.
- A proactive and ambitious mindset with a passion for developing high-quality services.
- Full UK driving licence.
