Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swimming Instructor to join our aquatic team. The ideal candidate will have a level 2 swimming teacher qualification and 3 years experience minimum. You be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels. This role offers an excellent opportunity to promote water safety, develop teaching skills, and inspire confidence in our clients. Applicants should possess a strong background in sports coaching and teaching, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons tailored to the needs of each participant
- Ensure the safety of all swimmers by enforcing pool rules and supervising activities at all times
- Assess individual progress and provide constructive feedback to help learners improve their skills
- Maintain a clean and organised pool area, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional
- Promote water safety awareness through educational programmes and practical demonstrations
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation and confidence-building among learners
- Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents during lessons
Experience
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching, preferably within a swimming environment
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, water safety protocols, and first aid procedures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate learners of varying ages and abilities
- Previous experience working with children or adults in a teaching capacity is desirable
- Certification in lifeguarding or water safety instruction is advantageous but not essential; relevant training can be provided for the right candidate
This role is ideal for individuals with a level 2 swimming qualification and a few years experience. Ideally the candidate would have a parent and baby qualification.
We have sessions at other sites including Effingham and Godalming.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £25.00 per hour
