Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Welder Fabricator / Site Fitter / Steel Erector to join a busy and growing engineering business in the West Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual with experience in welding, fabrication, fitting and site installation work. The successful candidate will be capable of working from engineering drawings, carrying out workshop fabrication and assisting with the installation and erection of steelwork on customer sites when required.
Duties
- MIG welding mild steel components
- Fabrication of structural and architectural steelwork
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Measuring, marking out and preparing materials
- Assembly and fitting of fabricated components
- Installation of steelwork, platforms, staircases, walkways and handrails
- Working with hand tools, power tools and fabrication machinery
- Carrying out site fitting and erection work when required
- Conducting quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
- Maintaining a safe and organised working environment
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Welder Fabricator, Site Fitter, Steel Erector or similar
- Strong MIG welding experience
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Experience with fabrication and assembly work
- Competent using workshop machinery and fabrication equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Structural steel experience
- Architectural metalwork experience
- Site fitting or steel erection experience
- Forklift licence
- Overhead crane experience
- CSCS Card
- IPAF or PASMA certification
- TIG welding experience
