Job Summary
We are seeking a self employed HGV Mechanic to look after our small fleet of plant machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal operational performance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, along with experience in equipment repair. The position involves working with various tools and machinery, including excavators and Tippers, to support the smooth running of our fleet. Training will also be given on Hydraulic hose repair and replacement. Wage is negotiable.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs and related equipment.
- Repair and maintain auxiliary machinery such as excavators and forklifts.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HGV mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy goods vehicles, including electrical systems.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with operating heavy machinery such as excavators and Grabs is essential.
Pay: £25,991.70-£52,974.89 per year
