About the Role:
Reporting to the Product Support and Warranty Manager, you will be a key member of our warranty Team.
The role is primarily based at our Sheffield headquarters (Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:30), where you will work on our helpdesk, logging support calls from customers, carrying out in-house device repairs, support warranty processes, and assist with other duties.
The role will also require regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK to perform on-site repairs and installations. Occasional overnight stays and periods of working away from home may be necessary.
This position is a practical and hands-on position which requires solid technical expertise, expert problem solving skills, and the confidence to work on your own at client locations.
Key Responsibilities
· Log support tickets for customers with hardware and software issues received via phone or email
· Perform onsite repairs for Desktops, Laptops, and other computer equipment throughout the UK.
· Diagnose faults and replace components for Desktops, Laptops and other computer equipment returned to VeryPC for repair.
· Manage stock, parts, and returns, ensuring faulty components are processed correctly.
· Work with suppliers and vendors to escalate technical issues, raise RMAs and follow-up on outstanding issues.
· Maintain accurate job notes, updating internal documentation and providing feedback to product team.
· Support onsite installation and removal of IT equipment as part of our deliver to desk service.
· Assist with other Warranty and Repairs related duties as required.
The Candidate
· Ideally located within 30 mins commute of Hillsborough, Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
· Full Clean UK Driving License (Manual) with own vehicle and Class 1 Business insurance (or own vehicle and willing to obtain Class 1 Business Insurance)
· Comfortable with regular travel nationwide and occasional overnight stays on short notice.
· Excellent telephone manner, good interpersonal and communications skills.
· Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently while managing time effectively.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hardware repair or IT support role, ideally with field experience.
Skills / Experience Required
· Strong understanding of desktop and laptop hardware.
· Proven ability to diagnose and repair faults, including replacement of motherboards, memory, SSD’s, power supplies, and screens.
· Experience building and upgrading computers.
· Good understanding of Windows 10/11 operating system, updating drivers etc.
· Experience with PCB repairs and soldering is an advantage.
