W.R Carter are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our family team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent vehicle standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries for the transportation of goods to designated locations
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Secure cargo properly on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times and any unforeseen delays
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during all operations
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record recognized by relevant authorities
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transport
- Excellent organizational skills to manage schedules and documentation efficiently
- Ability to operate vehicles in various weather conditions and terrains
- Good communication skills for liaising with team members and clients effectively
