Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals within care homes and providing home care services. Responsibilities
- Assist residents and clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Follow individual care plans to deliver personalised care and support
- Support with medication administration in accordance with prescribed instructions
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ or clients’ conditions
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure consistent care delivery
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Support residents in engaging with social activities and promoting wellbeing
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment at all times
- Use IT systems to update records and document care activities efficiently
- Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments when necessary
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively within a care home environment or providing home care services
- Experience or familiarity with creating or following care plans is desirable
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Driving licence is advantageous for supporting outings or home visits
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
