An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering a major 5-year capital delivery programme for South West Water across Somerset.
This role offers the chance to take commercial ownership of a varied portfolio of water infrastructure projects whilst working within a well-established and growing civil engineering business with a strong reputation in the utilities sector.
Working closely with operational teams, the successful Quantity Surveyor will manage projects through the full commercial lifecycle - from procurement and subcontract management through to final account - with a strong emphasis on NEC contract administration, commercial performance, and client engagement.
This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially driven QS who enjoys managing multiple schemes in a fast-paced environment and is looking to progress their career within a long-term framework.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

Full commercial management of multiple infrastructure and capital works projects

Administration of NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management

Cost forecasting, CVR production, and financial reporting

Procurement and management of subcontractors

Supporting operational teams to maximise project profitability and performance

Building and maintaining strong working relationships with both client and delivery teams

Mentoring and supporting a Graduate Quantity Surveyor
About You
To be considered, you should have:

Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities, water, or civil engineering

Strong working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts

Experience managing multiple projects concurrently

Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

The ability to work collaboratively within project and client-facing environments

A proactive and organised approach to commercial management
