Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a passion for driving and delivery operations. Candidates should possess a valid HGV Class 1 licence, with experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed loads, being highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a flatbed HGV Class 1 lorry to transport goods to designated locations.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed on time while adhering to road safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle, including brakes, tyres, lights, and load security.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods during transit.
- Maintain accurate documentation for each delivery, including delivery notes and vehicle logs.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
- Assist with the organisation of delivery routes to optimise efficiency.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E entitlement).
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed loads or similar freight types.
- Delivery driver experience is highly advantageous.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and best driving practices.
- Ability to operate a flatbed lorry safely and securely load/unload cargo.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle checks.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by operational demands. This role is ideal for experienced drivers committed to delivering excellent service while maintaining the highest safety standards.
