We are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEMH / SEN school in Bromley.
This is an exciting opportunity to support students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties, helping them to achieve both academically and personally.
Whether you have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker or are looking to build a career in SEND education, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
You will:
- Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Help pupils access learning and engage positively in lessons
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence
- Build strong relationships with students, staff and families
- Support students with social, emotional and communication needs
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams
- Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

✔ Has experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, care or mentoring backgrounds welcome)
✔ Is patient, positive and resilient
✔ Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ Can remain calm and professional in challenging situations
✔ Is committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Desirable Experience
- SEND, SEMH or Autism support
- Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Mentor experience
- Youth Work or Support Work background
- Team Teach, MAPA or de-escalation training
- Experience within a school or alternative provision setting
