About EFD Sport & Education
At EFD Sport & Education, we believe every young person deserves someone in their corner.
We deliver sports-based mentoring programmes within schools, supporting young people with attendance, behaviour, confidence, emotional wellbeing and engagement in education.
Since launching in 2020, we have supported thousands of young people across the East Midlands and now work with schools across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and Staffordshire.
Founded by current and former professional footballers, our team uses sport and positive role models to help young people thrive both in education and beyond. As we continue to grow, including the launch of the EFD Sport & Education Foundation, we are looking for an outstanding individual to join our team.

The Role
As an In-School Youth Mentor, you will work directly within partner schools across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, delivering one-to-one and small group mentoring programmes to young people who may be facing barriers to learning.
Working alongside pastoral teams, school leaders and families, you will support pupils to improve confidence, wellbeing, engagement and outcomes both in school and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions within schools.
- Use sport and physical activity to engage and inspire young people.
- Build positive relationships and act as a trusted role model.
- Support pupils with confidence, wellbeing, behaviour and school engagement.
- Work closely with school staff to monitor progress and support outcomes.
- Engage positively with parents and carers where appropriate.
- Collect impact data, including student voice and end-of-term outcomes.
- Attend CPD, training and team meetings.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and safeguarding at all times.

Desirable:
- Experience working with vulnerable learners or pupils with SEND.
- A background in sport or coaching.
- Experience working within school settings.
- Relevant qualifications in education, youth work or sport.
