Kenect Recruitment are seeking X2 dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative /Delivery Driver to work at one of our clients in Reading RG6. This role involves mainly warehouse duties with a bit of delivery driving to start and will move to more delivery driving in the future. The ideal candidate must be flexible to work both in the warehouse and out delivering. All deliveries are to commercial addresses so no residential deliveries. Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Shift
Monday to Friday 06.30- 15.30 (Start Times between 06.30 and 9am)
Saturday 08.00 - 12.00 (Alternate)
Pay: £12.71 p/h
The Role
Warehouse is the priority to start.
– Candidates will be working predominately in warehouse – scanner use 90% of the time.
PPE – High vis and boots
Candidates will then start to deliver goods (easy ones first) sprinter vans – radius 20 miles approx. and hour max in circumference from the depot (N Oxford, Whitney etc).

Drops – 3-11 depending on route.
Open from 05:30 – 17.30
42 hour week.
Vans fully loaded and off you go.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring timely transportation of goods to various locations.
- Perform warehouse tasks including receiving, sorting, and storing inventory.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods from vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and inventory levels.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations while driving and working in the warehouse environment.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance needs.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is advantageous.
- Experience in a warehouse setting, including knowledge of inventory management systems, is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) as required by the role.
- A valid driving licence with a clean driving record is essential; experience driving vans or similar vehicles is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with team members and clients.
