Objectives/Purpose of Role
To prepare and deliver quality food efficiently whilst adhering to company standards and designated timings.
Supervise, train and motivate team members to maintain excellence and create exceptional culinary experiences that leave a lasting impression on guests.
Ensure all health and safety processes are being followed and standards are of the highest order maintaining a 5* EHO rating.
Support the Head Chef in their role and lead the kitchen in their absence.
Deliver 70% Food Gross profit alongside ensuring Specials/BBQs are delivered along with involvement in dish development & any in pub activities.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Ensure there is open communication with the entire team to deliver outstanding food and service, promoting a supportive atmosphere where you assist team members whenever possible.
- Ensure the right number of team are deployed based on the forecasted sales of the day by looking ahead to each shift, reviewing bookings and the weather but also taking on-shift action if food sales are quieter than forecast.
- Conducts team briefs and debriefs to communicate sales and targets, ensuring effective communication of results and performance to the team.
- Provide guidance and feedback to team members during shifts to enhance their skills and ensure the delivery of excellent food quality.
- Allocate job roles, and duties for the shift.
- Lead and contribute to team meetings, offering your valuable insights.
- Facilitate new team members training, induction and performance review, providing coaching and development to support their growth.
- Prepare, cook and present food quickly, safely and efficiently to brand standard.
- Ensure any guest queries and complaints are handled promptly and professionally.
- Take pride to always ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and back of house areas.
- Work with the team to set-up and close the department and complete all stock rotation and prep and par process.
- Work safely with the kitchen equipment ensuring any maintenance issues are reported to the manager.
- Keep up to date with business information including GP, sales and Guest measure performance, promotions and new products.
- Participate in all in-house training, e-learning and the completion of assigned learning modules.
- Ensure wastage is kept to a minimum by ensuring the team follows company procedures and policies.
- Maintain accurate stock control through monitoring stock levels, placing orders, conducting delivery checks, and performing protein checks.
- Action deliveries and report any lost or damaged delivery stock to the manager.
- Always adhere to company standards, licensing laws and all company policies and procedures.
- Complete all appropriate documentation, due diligence records, daily and weekly cleaning tasks.

The Inn opened in November 2016 following extensive renovation. A range of stunning function spaces and twelve individually designed bedrooms and an off site cottage make it a very special place to work.
We will offer a full training and induction program to fully introduce the successful candidate to our businesses and ways of working.
The job is full time 5 days over 7.
Kitchen closes by 9pm so no super late finishes.
Everyone gets their holiday (all 28 days of them per year). No work is unpaid, work the extra hours, we pay you for them. Who works for nowt these days anyway? I don't!!
