Recclesia is a specialist conservation contractor working on historic buildings and ancient ruins across the North West & Wales. They are seeking a brickwork and/or terracotta specialist to join their team of skilled craftsmen and conservators. Ideally you will be NVQ Level 3 qualified in Brickwork or Stonemasonry, but they may also consider applications from Level 2 candidates who wish to progress to Level 3, and candidates with demonstrable equivalent experience.
The role is project specific, to assist with works to a large listed building in Manchester City Centre. The role will principally focus on the conservation and repair of brickwork and terracotta. You will be capable of cutting out, taking templates, repairing brick and terracotta materials, raking out and repointing, and be proficient in the use and application of carefully gauged lime mortars.
The company is trusted to work on some of the UK's most important buildings, so high standards of workmanship and attention to detail are essential. You will have plenty of initiative and an ability to think ahead and plan your work. Where possible, examples of your work should be included with your CV.
The role is site based and you will be expected to travel to project locations. You must have a current CSCS card and a driving licence valid in the UK. Full role and project specific safety training will be provided where it is not in place already. Opportunities for further vocational training may be made available as part of this role.
