Salary: £27,234.89 per annum
Hours: 38 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 9:30am - 17:00pm Monday – Friday

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Children and Young Person Support Worker to provide advice, assistance and meaningful support to young people. In this role, you will attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs, act as a positive role model, and work closely with them to help address challenges and achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities as a Children and Young Person Support Worker:
· Maintain a high standard of care and support that meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of all children and young people within the care of Orwell Housing.
· Create and sustain a caring, supportive and nurturing environment where children and young people feel safe, valued and protected from harm.
· Build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with children and young people, offering consistent unconditional and positive regard.
· Support children and young people to develop self‑control by appropriately addressing challenging behaviour and positively reinforcing acceptable, pro‑social behaviour.
· Ensure each child or young person’s care plan is followed, regularly reviewed and updated to reflect their individual and changing needs.
· Maintain accurate, timely records and contribute to written reports for planning meetings, reviews and other meetings as directed by the line manager.

Person Specification...
· Level 3 qualification in Childcare, social work, youth work, counselling, or education experience (paid or voluntary) of working with families and children.
· GCSE Maths and English (Grade 9-4 / A-C or equivalent).
