Vehicle Technician – Leigh Cars Ltd
Leigh Cars Ltd is a family-run independent used car dealership established in 2017. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team at our growing and expanding service centre in Southend-on-Sea.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual with a minimum qualification of Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3. The ideal candidate will be able to work confidently both independently and as part of a team. An MOT Tester qualification would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude who takes pride in delivering excellent workmanship and customer service while contributing to the continued success and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance to a high standard.
- Inspect mechanical and electrical components to accurately diagnose faults.
- Repair or replace defective parts and resolve vehicle issues efficiently.
- Road test vehicles to ensure repairs have been completed correctly.
- Maintain tools and workshop equipment in good working condition.
- Follow company procedures and checklists to ensure all work is completed thoroughly.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Qualified to Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 minimum.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a busy workshop team.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to consistently work to high standards and meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence required.
Job Details
- Job Type: Permanent
- Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Every other Saturday: 9:00am – 1:00pm
