We are looking to recruit a Legal Assistant within our Family team, based in Carlisle on either a part-time or full-time basis.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will join our busy and friendly family team and be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and experience of office administration, ideally in a legal environment. Whilst this role is not essentially a fee-earning role, there may be aspects of fee-earning expectation within it.
Knowledge and experience of assisting with family law matters is desirable. Specific training will be provided as necessary on our systems, legal procedures and the relevant law.
The role will include:
- Providing fee earner support
- Liaising with counsel and other legal representatives
- Drafting and preparing court documents as required
- General administrative tasks e.g. typing, copying, scanning, file opening and archiving
- Working with a case management system
The successful candidate will have a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude to enable them to work closely with a team of legal fee-earners, paralegals and legal assistants on all aspects of this work, and may have a fee earning target themselves. The ability to work as part of a team is therefore essential together with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
What do we offer?
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate with the potential for longer-term career advancement in our forward-thinking law firm, with a well-established client base. Along with this we will provide you with a competitive salary, pension, 30 days holiday and Private Medical Health Insurance; in addition, we will even give you your birthday off every year too!
