Part-Time Finance & Administration Assistant
Location: Driffield, East Yorkshire
Hours: 24 hours per week
We're looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Finance & Administration Assistant to join our small, close-knit team.
We're a family-culture business where everyone works together to support one another. No two days are the same, and you'll become an important part of a welcoming office where your contribution is genuinely valued.
This is a shared role within our finance team, working alongside our Senior Finance Assistant, so you'll receive plenty of support and training while settling into the position.
The Role
Your duties will include:
- Processing supplier and customer invoices
- Answering supplier and customer queries
- Monitoring finance email inboxes
- Assisting with credit control
- Bank reconciliations
- Creating and updating purchase order spreadsheets and placing orders
- Checking and reconciling supplier statements
- Opening new supplier accounts and completing company checks
- Assisting with month-end finance processes
- Maintaining accurate records and filing systems
- Supporting the Weighbridge system
- Data entry and spreadsheet management
- Providing general administrative support to the finance and office team
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous administration or finance experience (preferred)
- Has good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Is confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Is proactive, adaptable and willing to learn
- Has a positive, can-do attitude
Accounting software experience is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with Sage would be an advantage; however, we're moving to a new finance system at the end of the year, so we're really looking for someone who is adaptable, confident with technology and keen to learn new systems.
Training
Full training will be provided. For the first 2–3 weeks (or until you're confident), you'll work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday alongside our Senior Finance Assistant. Once training is complete, your regular working pattern will move to Wednesday to Friday.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a friendly, supportive team where everyone knows each other.
- Work in a business with a genuine family culture.
- Full training and ongoing support.
- A varied role where no two days are the same.
- Opportunity to develop your finance and administration skills.
- Company pension.
- On-site parking.
If you're looking for a role where you'll feel part of the team from day one and have the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you. We welcome applications from candidates with finance, administration or office experience who are keen to learn and grow with us.
Pay: £16,000.00 per year
Benefits:
