Position Overview
We are looking for a M&E Drainage Engineer living in central London (or within the M25), to carry out all aspects of pump works including investigation, installation and repairs on a variety of different properties across London.
The role will consist of planned and reactive pump tasks to both commercial and domestic buildings.
The Pump Engineer should have experience of working on all types of cold water boosted systems including inverted as well as wastewater pump stations (as part of an out of hours call out rota), ideally the candidate will also have proven experience on all types of pumped systems whilst providing first class customer service. It is also expected that the Pump Engineer will be confident carrying out servicing and remedial works at all pump stations.
There may also be a requirement to assist on the other aspects of the company.
Responsibilities
- Primary role – Clean/Dirty Water
- Pump station servicing/remedial works
- Review job tasks and identify tools, plants and materials
- Undertake risk assessment of site/works
- Assist in recommendations and quotes
- Liaise directly with customers and site contacts
- Record and feedback works undertaken, issues and any further works required
- Delegate tasks to other team members
- Reporting near misses and accidents as soon as possible
- Report vehicle and plant defects to supervisor/management
- Water booster servicing/remedial works (variable speed and single speed)
Position Requirements
- Competent Mechanical & Electrical Engineer
- Supply detailed reports and quotes from works carried out
- Communicate with office staff to ensure all works are carried out to a satisfactory standard
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams
- Understanding of pump and pipework installation
- Panel fault finding
- Panel electrical installation
- Prior experience of working in a similar environment
- Current full driving license
- Enthusiastic, driven and customer facing
- Able to work on own and as part of a team
- Excellent time keeping and organisational skills
Any additional skills/experience such as confined space entry, WH004, WH005 tickets would be of interest.
Additional Information
- Salary dependant on experience
- Must be available to work evening and nights including weekends as part of a call out rota, typically being on call for 1 week in 4
- Paid overtime
- 21 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Company van, uniform and tools will be supplied
- A DBS disclosure will be requested in the event of a successful application
