Wayman Education is partnering with a highly prestigious, Ofsted-graded 'Outstanding' secondary school in Taunton to recruit a passionate and talented Design and Technology (DT) Teacher for a permanent, full-time position starting this September.
This opportunity is ideal for either an experienced DT Teacher looking to thrive in a high-achieving environment, or an ambitious Early Career Teacher (ECT) wanting to develop their practice alongside top-tier STEM and creative practitioners.
The Role
As a DT Teacher within this highly successful department, you will design and deliver a modern, practical curriculum that bridges traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge manufacturing technology.
- Teach Design and Technology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
- Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons covering resistant materials, product design, and systems/control engineering.
- Utilize and teach advanced design software and machinery, including CAD/CAM, 3D printing, and laser cutting.
- Maintain impeccable health and safety standards within the workshop, fostering a safe and productive environment for all students.
- Contribute to the school's vibrant STEM enrichment program, including robotics clubs, design competitions, and industry links.

Experience & Qualifications
- A formal teaching qualification with UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (e.g., PGCE, BEd).
- A relevant degree in Design and Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong technical skill set and the confidence to safely manage a secondary school workshop environment.
- Demonstrable subject knowledge to challenge and stretch academically ambitious students up to A-Level.
- A valid, legal right to work within the United Kingdom.
