We’re currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Days) to join one of our prestigious clients in Exeter!
This hands-on role involves both planned and reactive maintenance within a busy industrial production environment. You’ll be working on a variety of plant equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
You’ll join a skilled engineering team where you’ll play a key role in maintaining production performance, supporting ongoing improvements, and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!
What you’ll be doing
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns
- Work across both mechanical and electrical systems on site
- Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime
- Maintain and repair a range of production plant and equipment
- Support installations, shutdowns, and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure safe systems of work are followed, including isolations and permits
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support output
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Uphold high standards of health, safety, housekeeping and compliance
Hours
3 week rotating shift pattern, all day shifts (Monday–Friday)
- Week 1: 6am – 2pm
- Week 2: 8am – 4pm
- Week 3: 10am – 6pm
Pay
£42,500 basic with an OTE up to £50,000 per annum
Overtime paid at time ½ or option for time back in lieu
Skills/Experience Required
- Minimum 12 months’ experience in a maintenance engineering role within a production, manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong electrical skills preferred, with good mechanical ability also required
- Ability to fault-find on electrical systems (e.g. motors, sensors, relays, control panels)
- Engineering qualifications (electrical or mechanical) desirable
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations
- Flexible, hands-on approach with a willingness to support all areas of maintenance
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Self-motivated and proactive problem solver
