Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Part-time Coach Driver to join our team. We operate a fleet of modern, well maintained coaches and have a reputation for excellent customer service. We need someone who is prepared to work flexible hours on a mixture of:
- private hire (school trips and other community groups)
- feeders
- UK touring work (generally up to 5 days)
- Possible occasional European touring work if desired
- school contracts (if desired)
This post would be particularly suitable for a semi-retired person who does not require a fixed number of hours per week. Our vacancy gives you the opportunity to create your ideal mix of hours, type of work and level of challenge. Please note that this job is unlikely to be suitable for candidates who only have service bus experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the coach, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with vehicle inspections and minor repairs as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge
- Deliver excellent customer service by communicating clearly with passengers and providing assistance when required
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely arrivals and departures
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle interior and exterior
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to the relevant department
Skills
- Current PSV licence
- Current CPC driver card
- experience in UK/European coach driving
- Good communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with passengers
- Ability to take the initiative and go the extra mile to give passengers a great experience
- Organised, punctual, and capable of researching and planning routes in conjunction with operations manager
Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
