HGV Technician – Swindon

We are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Technicians to join a busy and growing commercial vehicle workshop in the Swindon area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for long-term stability, strong earning potential, and genuine opportunities for career progression within a well-established business.
With multiple shift patterns available and overtime opportunities, this role offers flexibility alongside a supportive working environment and ongoing investment in staff development.
The Role
- Service, maintenance, and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Carry out vehicle inspections, MOT preparation, and safety checks
- Complete diagnostics using manufacturer and workshop equipment
- Road test vehicles where required
- Ensure all workshop paperwork and job cards are completed accurately
- Support breakdown and recovery work when necessary
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and health & safety
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Previous experience within an HGV or commercial vehicle workshop
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- HGV licence beneficial but not essential
- Breakdown and roadside experience advantageous
- Reliable, motivated, and team-oriented approach
