Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Smart Meter Engineer to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of smart metering systems to ensure efficient energy management for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in electrical and mechanical systems, with hands-on experience using various hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and calibrate smart meters in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of metering equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to smart metering systems efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes
- Document all work activities accurately, including installation details, repairs, and maintenance records
- Assist in upgrading existing systems with minimal disruption to clients’ operations
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols during all on-site activities
Requirements
- Proven electrical experience, with a solid understanding of electrical systems and circuitry
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to the installation and maintenance of metering equipment
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and wire strippers
- Experience operating power tools safely and effectively in a technical environment
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred for travel between sites
- Willingness to work flexibly in various locations and environments
