This is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Consultant Neurosurgeon, with special interests in Neuro-Oncology and Hydrocephalus. This post will be available from August 2026 for a period of 6 months.
This post will deliver 10 PAs supporting the neurosurgery team: Mr K Deniz, Mr C Derham, Mr N Phillips, Mr I Anderson, Mr A K Tyagi, Mr J Goodden, Mr R Corns, Mr G Sivakumar, Mr A Sheikh, Mr R Mathew, Ms R Chave-Cox, and Mr J Livermore.
There will be opportunities to contribute to ongoing clinical research programmes within the department.
The post will be based at Leeds General Infirmary.
The successful applicant should hold accreditation in FRCS (Neuro. Surg.) or equivalent, and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical Director and Clinical Director.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of general Neurosurgery. Specifically, applicants must demonstrate higher training in Neuro-oncology. Fellowship training in Neuro-oncology is essential; Fellowship training in Hydrocephalus is desirable. Applicants should have established skills in Neuro-Oncology Surgery and Hydrocephalus.
Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential.
