Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Coach to join our team to teach up to three after-school clubs per week (up to 3 hours weekly). The successful and versatile candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging sports programmes, such as basketbal, netball, rounders and dodgeball fostering teamwork, and encouraging participants of all ages and skill levels to develop their athletic abilities. Duties
- You MUST hold an enhanced DBS, due to nature and immediate planning of teaching children.
- Plan, organise, and deliver sports coaching sessions tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
- Provide clear instructions and demonstrations to ensure participants understand techniques and rules.
- Motivate and encourage participants to achieve their personal best while emphasising fair play and sportsmanship.
- Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback to support development.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to relevant health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain equipment, organise training sessions, and manage the utilisation of sports facilities effectively.
- Foster a positive team environment that promotes inclusivity, respect, and enjoyment of sport.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sports coaching or teaching within a sporting environment.
- Strong knowledge of various sports rules, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage participants.
- Organised with the ability to plan sessions that cater to different age groups and abilities.
- Enthusiastic, approachable, with a genuine passion for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
- Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential; willingness to undertake training is appreciated. This role is ideal for individuals committed to making a positive impact through sport while fostering teamwork, discipline, and confidence among participants.
