We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Groundworks Operative to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of groundwork duties on residential, commercial, and civil engineering projects. This role requires experience working on-site, following health and safety regulations, and operating effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Excavation and trenching work
- Installing drainage systems and pipework
- Concreting, kerbing, and paving
- Preparing foundations and footings
- Operating small plant and machinery where qualified
- Assisting with site preparation and clearance
- Reading and following site plans and instructions
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean working area
Requirements
- Previous experience in groundwork or construction
- Valid CSCS card (preferred/required)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- CPCS/NPORS plant tickets are advantageous
