MAMA Academy is a UK charity dedicated to empowering expectant parents and maternity professionals to improve maternity services and save babies’ lives.
Founded by a bereaved mother following the preventable stillbirth of her son due to undetected growth restriction, MAMA Academy works to ensure every baby has the best possible chance of arriving safely.
We are seeking a freelance corporate fundraiser for 1 day per week, to commence in June 2026.
Our key initiatives include:
The MAMA Podcast – Delivering vital maternity education and lived experience to parents and professionals.
Wellbeing Wallets – Distributed across NHS Trusts, providing pregnancy information and signposting to support services.
Educational Webinars – Expert-led sessions for maternity professionals to share best practice and improve outcomes.
Website & Resources – Offering evidence-based information and trusted guidance for expectant parents and clinicians.
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced freelancer to continue development and delivery of our corporate fundraising strategy that strengthens and expands MAMA Academy’s network of partners and sponsors. This role will be key to securing sustainable corporate income to support our life-saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
● Building upon and implementing our corporate fundraising strategy aligned with MAMA Academy’s goals and programmes.
● Building upon and managing our strong partnership pipeline – researching, identifying, and prioritising potential corporate partners whose values align with our mission.
● Create compelling proposals and partnership packages for key initiatives.
● Engage and pitch to potential partners through calls, meetings, and presentations.
● Chase up leads and maintain consistent follow-up to nurture interest and move prospects through the pipeline.
● Convert prospects into committed partners and sponsors, negotiating mutually beneficial agreements.
● Use Leads In to manage relationships, track progress, and report on activity.
● Provide regular updates and insight to the CEO and Board on progress, opportunities, and recommendations.
Key Deliverables
● Delivering our actionable corporate fundraising strategy and timeline.
● Building upon our robust and growing pipeline of prospective partners and sponsors.
● Consistent outreach and engagement activity each week.
● Conversion of new corporate partnerships across at least two key initiatives within the first 6 months.
● Monthly progress reports and partnership development insights.
Skills & Experience
● Proven experience in corporate fundraising, partnerships, or business development, ideally in the charity or non-profit sector.
● Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with confidence in pitching to senior decision-makers.
● Strong track record in building pipelines and converting leads into funding partnerships.
● Skilled in using Leads In or similar CRM systems for effective lead management.
● Proactive, strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.
● Passionate about MAMA Academy’s mission to improve maternity safety and prevent baby loss.
