Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled self employed fabricator to join a fast growing company specialising in structural steelwork and general architectural metalwork.
The role can be either full time or part time on the same days weekly. Potential to develop in to full time paye for the right candidate.
Experience with en1090-2 structural metalwork systems and the ability to pass a reasonable skill test performing 6mm mag welds on structural components and show with the ability to read technical drawings proficiently is essential.
The candidate must have the ability to perform high quality workmanship consistently.
They must show willingness to learn, a high attention to detail and the ability to pick up new skills.
Experience in structural steel installation would be looked upon favourably.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural components from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Assemble parts and products using various hand tools and power tools.
- Perform welding tasks, MAG essential. MMA would be beneficial.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
- Fill in job cards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and processes as needed.
- Product installation on site.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, particularly with structural steelwork.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong welding skills, specifically in MAG welding techniques.
- Ability to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
- Basic mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
- Good mechanical knowledge to understand machinery and fabrication processes.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
