B1 & B2 Licensed Engineers – Base Maintenance
Connect 4 Aviation has an exciting opportunity for experienced B1 and B2 Licensed Engineers to join a leading aircraft maintenance organisation in St Athan, Wales.
This is a permanent opportunity working within a busy Part-145 base maintenance environment, supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activity on commercial aircraft.

Location: St Athan, Wales
Salary: £72,077 plus £17,000 shift premium per annum
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 18:15
Friday: 07:00 – 14:30
Seasonal Attendance:
1 September to 31 May, plus 10 days refresher training in August.
The Role
The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out aircraft maintenance, inspections, defect rectification, repairs, modifications and overhaul activity in line with Part-145 requirements, internal procedures and customer service level agreements.
You will also support the supervision, mentoring and delegation of Technicians and Mechanics, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest engineering standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out aircraft maintenance and inspections in accordance with approved procedures.
- Lead and support Technicians and Mechanics during base maintenance checks.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation, paperwork and task cards are completed accurately and on time.
- Keep management and planning teams updated on maintenance progress, requirements and any potential issues.
- Ensure accurate time bookings are recorded against task cards.
- Maintain correct storage, labelling and serviceability control of aircraft components.
- Promote strong hangar standards, including housekeeping, workplace cleanliness and FOD prevention.
- Support defect rectification, investigation, repairs, overhaul and modification activity.
- Recommend improvements to working practices, procedures and efficiency where appropriate.
- Work in accordance with company policies, compliance requirements and risk management procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ aircraft maintenance experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ base maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, including rigging, component replacement and modification embodiment.
- Good structural assessment and repair knowledge.
- Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation.
- Strong understanding of Part-145 maintenance standards.
- Safety-focused approach with strong attention to quality and compliance.
Licence Requirements
For B1 Engineers:
- UK CAA AML; or
- EASA AML issued before 31.12.20; or
- UK CAA AML and EASA AML issued after 31.12.20.
Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience and Boeing 737 type ratings, including B737 CL / NG / MAX.
Candidates without these type ratings may still be considered, as aircraft type training may be provided by the company where required.
Pay: £80,000.00-£90,000.00 per year
