Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in a nursing home. As an Activities Assistant, you will help create a warm, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for residents living in our nursing home. You will deliver meaningful activities tailored to individual interests and abilities, encouraging social interaction and promoting emotional and physical wellbeing.
Duties
- Deliver daily activities, group sessions, and one-to-one engagement
- Support residents to participate in hobbies, games, crafts, music, and gentle exercise
- Along with the Activities Coordinator organise seasonal events, celebrations, and outings
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
- Encourage resident independence and inclusion
- Maintain activity records and contribute ideas for new programmes
- Ensure activities are safe, enjoyable, and person-centred
Qualifications
- Previous experience in care, activities, or customer-facing roles is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication skills
- A kind, patient, and positive attitude
- Creativity and enthusiasm
- A genuine passion for supporting older people
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.

Pay: £12.50-£13.00 per hour
