Job Summary
We’re looking for a friendly, proactive, animal‑loving Sales Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping customers, cares about animals, and thrives in a hands‑on retail environment. You’ll be the face of the shop, supporting customers with product advice, unpacking deliveries, processing cash and card sales on the till and keeping the shop running smoothly day to day.
Duties
- Customer Service — Greet customers, offer advice on pet care, recommend suitable products, and ensure every visitor feels welcome.
- Sales Support — Assist customers with purchases, upsell where appropriate, and maintain strong product knowledge across food, accessories, toys, and healthcare items.
- Store Presentation — Keep shelves stocked, tidy, and well‑organised; ensure displays are attractive and up to date.
- Cash Handling — Operate the till, process payments accurately, and follow shop procedures for returns and exchanges.
- Cleaning & Maintenance — Maintain a clean, safe environment for customers.
- Stock Management — Assist with deliveries, unpacking and stock rotation.
- Customer Education — Provide basic guidance on pet nutrition, behaviour, and responsible ownership.
