Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Salon Assistant / Junior Hairdresser to join our busy salon team. This role is ideal for someone who is Level 2 qualified in Hairdressing or currently working towards their qualification and looking to gain valuable salon experience.
You will play an important role in ensuring the salon runs smoothly, supporting our stylists and extension specialists, and delivering excellent customer service to every client.
For candidates who have already achieved their NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing, this role offers the opportunity to begin building your own client base while working on the salon floor alongside our experienced team.
You will have the chance to gain hands-on experience with clients, develop your confidence as a stylist, grow your personal clientele and build your career within a busy and supportive salon environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming clients and managing reception duties
- Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries
- Managing appointments and assisting with salon bookings
- Creating and posting engaging social media content
- Shampooing and conditioning clients' hair
- Preparing clients for appointments
- Assisting extension specialists during consultations and fittings
- Making refreshments for clients
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and professional salon environment
- Cleaning styling stations and treatment areas
- Washing and preparing salon equipment and tools
- Managing laundry and towel stock
- Monitoring and replenishing salon supplies
- Supporting the team with day-to-day salon operations
- Ensuring excellent customer service at all times
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Friendly and professional manner

- Reliable, organised and proactive
- Passion for the hair and beauty industry
- Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing qualification or currently working towards Level 2
- Previous salon experience
- Confidence using social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok
